(v. 22) After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters.

walked with God. The expression, repeated twice (here and v. 24), signifies intimate fellowship (3:8; 6:9). After the flood, the prospect of a similar relationship is promised through the presence of God in the tabernacle (Lev. 26:12).

Knowing God
All true theology depends on God. He is the principle on which our theology is constructed. As a personal, gracious God, he freely revealed himself to us. All other topics of theology (e.g., man, salvation, Christ) are held together by the doctrine of God. Hence, theology always remains to some degree the study of God.

my observation on the longevity of the early humans, as recorded in Scripture: First man, Adam = 930 yrs; Enoch lived 65 yrs (retirement age) before fathering his son Methuselah. He walked with God and was no more after living 365 years. His son lived 969 yrs, longest in human history. Lamech, Noah's father lived 777 years (number of perfection). Noah was 500 when he fathered his sons...so interesting.
ReplyDeleteto me , the knowing God section is interesting especially since i am taking ap theology this year .its like every theological study is sooooo different from one another yet theyre All mostly based or worked around God whether its the belief in him , belief that he doesnt exist , belief that hes there but not God , etc. there are sooo many different beliefs but all have a common topic which is God. so “all true theology depends on God”
