the Lord has blessed you
kuo ō mo au ho tāpuekina ‘e Sihova
Senesi 30 (Genesis 30)
(v. 30) For what you had before I came was little, and it has increased to a great amount; the Lord has blessed you since my coming. And now, when shall I also provide for my own house?”
(v. 30) Hono ‘uke ‘a e me‘a na‘a ke ma‘u ‘i he te‘eki te u ha‘u? pea kuo tupu ko e fu‘u me‘a; pea kuo ō mo au ho tāpuekina ‘e Sihova; pea ko eni, te u ngāue fakakū ‘e au foki ma‘a hoku fāmili?
*Commentary: Matthew Henry*
That
Jacob's piety had brought that blessing upon him: The Lord has blessed me, not
for my own sake (let not such a man as Laban, that lives without God in the
world, think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord, (Jam. 1:7), but for
thy sake. Note,
[1.] Good
men are blessings to the places where they live, even where they live meanly
and obscurely, as Jacob in the field, and Joseph in the prison, ch. 39:23.
[2.] God often blesses bad men with outward mercies for the sake of their godly relations, though it is seldom that they have either the wit to see it or the grace to own it, as Laban did here.

GOD IS . . . (KO E ‘OTUA, ‘OKU . . )
GOD IS TRIUNE
In Christ
The Father is not only the person who sent the Son of God to earth to redeem sinners but is also the master architect behind the type of body the Son assumed: "A body have you prepared for me" (Heb. 10:5). At the same time, the actual forming of the human nature of the Son through the flesh of the Virgin Mary was the work of the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:35). But the decision of taking into subsistence with himself a human nature was a prerogative that belonged to the Son, who must do all things freely and willingly. As Christ says, “I have come down from heaven" (John 6:38). In other words, while it is true that the Father sent the Son, the Son came willingly, apart from any coercion. The Son assumed a human nature.

Jesus came to die on the cross "willingly". For me. Mo'oni e lea e hiva.
ReplyDelete"Why me Lord, what have I ever done
To deserve even one
Of the pleasures I've known
Tell me Lord, what did I ever do
That was worth loving you
Or the kindness you've shown"
GRACE!!! Marvelous Grace!
Praise God. Yes, the “independence” of the persons of the Trinity showcases the fact that they are “distinct” - but gloriously intertwined without separation. The mystery of the willingness of the Son to step down from splendor within the overarching righteous plan of the Father...we can only cry out - Hallelujah! 🙌🏽❤️🙏🏽

Notes from today’s AM
ReplyDeleteV17: reaffirmed us again that our sovereign God is the one in control of all things. He is the one that works ALL things. Rachel’s frustration over what she can’t control fell upon her husband but Jacob reassured her that he’s not in control but God. So it’s important for us to know that whatever it is we’re searching for in life our answers are found only in God who has control over all things. Whether it’s job, school, relationship, financial stability etc. -we must seek Him with all our hearts & trust Him who always gives His best for us. There are times where God stops things from us & just like Rachel we get frustrated cos we already figured out that there’s no reason for God not to answer these type of prayers. But again Isaiah 58:8-9 reminds us, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” And lastly Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” So therefore we yield it all to our Sovereign God for he hears our prayers & his timings are always right & he never fail to provide the best for His children. Thank you Lord 🙏❤️
Yes, indeed, our God reigns! Our struggle with our “humanness” will continue until we get to glory. The beauty of trusting God is that we relinquish control from self - where we only see through a tiny hole - our perspective is skewed. God, being all-knowing and ever present, sees the beginning from the end. So, we trust and obey - He has established Himself as a promise-keeping God and He has a prefect record in history for being faithful. 🙏🏽

Just to think that I am saved because my Savior wasn’t selfish enough to say no when being sent down to earth to save our sins, HE CAME WILLINGLY!!! That’s not something I ever thought of before..Obedience is a big thing we learn growing up in the ministry because we’re taught to serve willingly...It didn’t feel like that as a child, but now I’m sure we’ve all adopted that action of humility and serving without second guessing if it’s the right thing to do!!!
ReplyDeleteI’m not anyone important, but I am someone who wants to be used by the Lord to do His work...Jacob and Joseph are known in the Bible as men GOD used for His glory...I wanna be one of those people that can say when I’m old that I lived a Godly life to the best of my ability...Doesn’t mean I wanna be a faifekau or tikoniz wife, but I’m all in for supporting those who are called into this part of ministry...Great message this morning and hope y’all have a great day 🤟🏼
