He is with us

SCRIPTURE
All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 'The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son and they will call him Immanuel (which meams God with us)" Matthew 1:22-23

OBSERVATION
At this point, Mary and Joseph are likely making the connection that the visitations from angels are connected to the ancient prophecies about the coming Messiah. As they both hear the baby should be named "God with us" they are probably just coming to the realization they have front and center roles in an incredible story that is being written with them and around them.

APPLICATION
Jesus was crucified, He returned and said He would never leave you nor forsake you (Matthew 28:20). He sent the Holy Spirit to live in and through you.

PRAYER
God, thank you for working in and through me. Help me to not lose sight of the fact that my body is a temple of the living God. Amen

Fakatatau ki he veesi ‘o e ‘aho ni, ko e ha e ‘uhinga ‘oku totonu ke lotolahi ai ha tokotaha kalisitaine ‘i ha‘ane teu fai ha ngaue ‘oku ne ongo‘i ‘oku ‘ikai taau pe fe‘unga ke ne fai? –
(According to today’s verse, why should a Christian have confidence in doing something he may feel inadequate in performing?)

Fakatatau ki he konga ‘uluaki ‘o e veesi, ko e hā e ‘uhinga ‘oku falala‘anga ai ‘a e folofola ‘a e ‘Otua?
(According to the 1st part of the verse, why do we have confidence in the reliability of God’s word?)
