Then Joseph remembered the dreams
Pea na‘e manatu ‘e Siosifa ki he ngaahi
misi
(v. 9) Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, “You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!”
*Commentary: David Guzik Study notes on
Genesis*
Joseph did not play games with his bothers. Some commentators believe that if it were up to Joseph, he would have revealed himself to his brothers right then and there. But God recalled the dreams to his mind and guided him to be an instrument for the correction and restoration of the brothers.
God can, and must, sometimes use ways we think are harsh to call us to go to where He wants us to be. We must never resent it, because it was the hardness of our hearts that demanded it. Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word. (Psalm 119:67)

GOD IS . . . (KO E ‘OTUA, ‘OKU / KO E . . .)
GOD IS TRIUNE
Application
We receive the promised Holy Spirit by asking in faith (Luke 11:13; John 7:37-39; Gal. 3:2, 14). There are many ways in which the Spirit helps or comforts believers. He glorifies Christ to us; he pours out the love of the Father and the grace of Christ into our hearts; he witnesses to us that we are children of the Father (Rom. 8:16); he produces faith and repentance in us; he generates in us "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control" (Gal. 5:22-23).

Powerful chapter this is. Joseph’s dream has became a reality and he is reminded of the origins of his journey to Egypt. He is reminded of how far he has come once he recognizes his brothers and couldn’t hold back emotions when he overheard their conversation about him from the past.
ReplyDeleteLessons Learned:
• God allows events good/bad to occur for us to correct and restore our faith in him.
• God’s timing is everything. We can see this in Joseph’s dream becoming a reality.
Thank you nfelemi55 (Arizona). Praise God for light, endurance & wisdom. God's providence is evident throughout this grace-filled story. Keep the faith. Keep sharing.
DeleteGod allows us to go through hardship in order to never forget what and where we’ve come from...Sometimes we go through things so we can help others down the line with any struggles they maybe going through...I’ve gone through some rough times in the past couple of years but I’ve gone through it with the help of the Lord and have been able to help others see that there’s a reason for the struggle and pain...Eventually we’ll be reunited with our loved ones and be stronger than ever before because the Holy Spirit is there to remind us of Gods promise if we remember not to take His promises for granted. God bless y’all today💯
ReplyDeleteThank you Peteli for your daily encouragements. Yes, we all enjoy family reunions - this one had many twists & turns - to see Joseph experience a myriad of emotions - but restraint and guided by God’s Spirit. A delicate dance - test, concealment, reservation... and above all - So much grace under fire! God is so merciful to us (through the saga of the brothers). Nothing is outside of His Providence!🙏🏽🙌🏽
DeleteThe blessings reading thru this chapter is, that Joseph is a picture of Christ in the Old Testament, he was prepared to saved his family (Israel) from deaths, but in order to do that he has to go thru hard time, been treated by his own family his own brothers like they don’t want him, and they ended up sold him and he ended up in Egypt. God is with him all the way even thought it was hard and struggled but he put his faith in God. Au ki he vahe 41 vete ai e misi a Felo to hono tapuaki ke pule ki Isipite katoa koeuhi koe honge amanaki to fakamatala ae talanoa koe honge e auha ai mo lahi ai ae mate kapau e ikai fai ha teuteu kiai, Joseph was prepared to save his family and even the whole world from starving to death. Nae ikai ngata pe heene fakamoui hono famili neongo koe fakamoui ne fai mei he fonua ko Isipite, asi he talanoa ne omi ae ngaahi fonua mei mamani o fakatau meakai mei Isipite. He saved his family and the rest of the world from starving to death. Koe fakatata o Kalaisi hoko mai ki mamani ke fakamoui a Isileli pea lave ai a mamani kotoa pe neongo nae ikai tali ia hono kakai pea nau iku o kalusefai ia koeuhi pe kae moui ai ha a mamani kotoa pe meihe mate taengata o makatiunga i he TUI kihe pekia naa ne fai he kolosi koia ae mouianga koia ae hala fakakavakava ki he moui taengata emeni. 🙏😊

DeleteThere are too many snowflakes in today's churches and so called Christians. many are afraid to say what God has put in their hearts because they are afraid to hurt others feelings.
ReplyDeleteJoseph wasn't always to speak what God put in his heart. Although it'll hurt feelings even if they are family it still has to be said. Sometimes God wants to test our walk of faith to see if we really have change our ways or are we all talk; the same way Joseph tested his brothers.
We are tested daily in our spiritual walk and at times it'll be difficult than others but the results God wants to achieve is the same.
1 Kolinito 10:13
he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it.”
They that endures till the end, will be rewarded.
