For the Lord gives wisdom
He ʻoku foaki ʻe Sihova ʻa e poto´
Palovepi 2 (Proverbs 2)
(v. 6) For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;
(v. 6) He ʻoku foaki ʻe Sihova ʻa e poto: ʻoku haʻu mei hono fofonga ʻae ʻilo mo e fakakaukau. (paaki ‘a Uesi)
*Commentary: David Guzik Study notes on Genesis*
a. For the Lord gives wisdom: This explains why the fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom, and an essential aspect of the pursuit of wisdom. True wisdom is found in Him, and He gives it.
b. From His mouth come knowledge and understanding: The most significant way God gives wisdom is from the words of His mouth. His word reveals knowledge and understanding. In His word He stores up sound wisdom for the upright.
*Tohi Vete: Ngaahi lesoni ako ‘a Tevita Kuisaki ‘i he Tohi Senesi*
He ʻoku foaki ʻe Sihova ʻa e poto: Ko e ‘uhinga eni ‘o e hoko ‘a e ‘apasia ki he ‘Otua´, ko e makatuʻunga ‘o e poto´, pea mo e mataʻikoloa ‘o e vivili ki he poto´. Ko e poto moʻoni´ ‘oku maʻu meiate Ia, pea ko Ia tokotaha pe ‘oku ne toe foaki´.
ʻOku haʻu mei hono fofonga´ ʻa e ʻilo´ mo e fakakaukau´: Ko e founga mahuʻinga taha ‘oku tufa ai ‘e he ‘Otua´ ‘a e poto´, ‘oku fou ‘i he ngaahi lea ‘a hono ngutu´ (tapu mo Ia). Ko ‘Ene Folofola´ ‘oku ne tatala ‘a e ‘ilo mo e fakakaukau (fakahinohino). ‘I heʻene Folofola´, ‘oku ne tuku tauhi ai ‘a e poto moʻonia ki he angatonu´.
GOD IS . . . (KO E ‘OTUA, ‘OKU . . )
2 GOD IS SIMPLE
Doctrine
When the Scriptures draw attention to one attribute, they invariably draw attention to another because, as noted above, it is hard to distinguish God's attributes in light of his simplicity. As soon as we talk about one, we are necessarily led to another.

If God gives wisdoms and it results in knowledge and understanding why don’t we all crave for this? A lot of the time I think I know better and try to do things on my own to which I fail miserably and I know God let’s me get away with thinking I know better so He can show me that I don’t...We serve an amazing God and we need to seek Him diligently on a day to day basis and make Him the biggest part of our day 💛
ReplyDeleteMalo Peteli e “tafi mala’e” (hope u know what this phrase means) - but in deed, “He” is our Wisdom! Praise God! Glory to our triune God!
DeleteThis is similar to that of yesterday. No matter how intelligent a person becomes there's always capacity for learning if they are willing. Same goes for us. If we don't search and ask to whom gives wisdom like King Solomon we will not receive it.
ReplyDeleteWisdom is the want and desire to learn outweighs complacency.
In order to gain wisdom from God we have to search for God, by reading and following his words.
King Solomon reminded me today that true wisdom is more than intellect it is a spiritual attitude or attribute, that only comes from Christ. God = wisdom , God = understanding , God = knowledge. If we want to attain all this we must have Christ , we must seek Christ we must be in Christ and we must choose to allow Christ to fully dwell in us. (#period) without Christ I lack true wisdom.
