“This is the finger of God.”

Ko e tuhu ‘o e ‘Otua eni

'Ekisoto 8 (Exodus 8)

(v. 19) Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God.” But Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he would not listen to them, as the Lord had said.

(v. 19) Pea na‘e pehē ‘a e kau maki kia Felo, Ko e tuhu ‘o e ‘Otua eni: ka na‘e fakafefeka ‘a e loto ‘o Felo, pea na‘e ‘ikai te ne tokanga kiate kinaua, ‘o tatau mo e me‘a na‘e fakahā ‘e Sihova.

finger of God. The magicians now admit that a divine intervention is directly involved (cf. 31:18; Ps. 8:3), but Pharaoh is not persuaded.

*Commentary:  Tohitapu Ako ‘a e Fakalelei Lotu´*

Tuhu ‘o e ‘Otua.  Kuo fakamo’oni ‘a e kau faimana´ ko e me’a kuo hoko´ ko e ngaue ‘a e ‘Otua (31:18; Saame 8:3), ka na’e ‘ikai pe ke loto ‘a Felo ke tui.

  1. I would hate to be in Pharaohs shoes. I mean majority of the time I like to control what’s going on around me, but to have things happen by your command and it’s out of your control that’s gotta be rough...God hardened Pharaohs heart and regardless of what he may have wanted God was in control of it...God controls our lives on a daily, and it would be a shame to lose that control from God and Him allowing the devil to take over your life...Choose God because Hes the only one that could guide you towards blessings abundantly 💯 Have a great day readers 🙏🏼

  2. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks. It is the same with a person with a hardened heart. If a person's heart is harden then they become tunnel vision where no amount of persuasion could persuade their thinking and usually leads to destructions.
It is a warning for us to guard our hearts. What we store in our hearts will affect our actions so make sure to fill our hearts with the word of God and the "fruit" from yesterday's reading, so that we may strive to do right by God and people.
