Behold the blood of the covenant
Ko e toto fuakava eni
(v. 8) And Moses took the blood and threw it on the people and said, “Behold the blood of the covenant that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”
(v. 8) Pea to‘o ‘e Mōsese ‘a e toto, ‘o ne afuhi ‘aki ‘a e kakai, ‘o ne pehē, Ko e toto fuakava eni, ‘a e fuakava kuo fai ‘e Sihova mo kimoutolu ‘i he funga ‘o e ngaahi lea ni kotoa
*Commentary: The Reformation Study Bible*
The people are sprinkled with "the blood of the covenant," the blood that puts the covenant into effect (Heb. 9:16-22). The blood signifies cleansing from sin so that the people might enter the covenant relation, and it underscores that the ultimate penalty for breaking the covenant is death. Jesus proclaims the fulfillment of the symbolism at the Last Supper when He offers the cup: "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins" (Matt. 26:28).
*Tohi Vete: Ko e Tohitapu Ako ‘a e Fakalelei Lotu´*

26:28).
Praise God we were not sprinkled with the blood of a goat or a sheep but fully covered with the blood of the Lamb of God, the one who took away our sins! Fakafeta'i atu Eiki.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jesus for your sacrifice.
ReplyDeleteThe blood that was sprinkled was that of a bull. Moses built an alter and sent young men to bring a bull to be a sacrifice and a peace offering. He drained half into a basin and half he splatter on the alter. The other half that was in the basin were splatter on the people.
ReplyDeleteIn order for a covenant to happen there had to be a willingness to submit and obey God. Also, there needs to be a sacrifice and offering in our part. The question is, what are we willing to sacrifice.
Majority today especially younger generation think they can live a double life. Many enjoy the night scene, the partying, drinking, cussing and then Sunday show up to church if nothing happened. Bulls are not use for sacrificial anymore so we have to sacrifice our old self and offer our life to God as offering. In that, we become a new person that he could use to glorify his name.
Tamai, ko au koe Angahala, fkmolemole'i ange au o fakama'a a eku moui pea liliu a'e Peni motua Ke hoko o fo'ou. Ke o ou a'e kololia Moe langilangi. Amen
Malo Peni fo’ou! Faith says, “its done!” Wishing says, “I hope its done”! We live a life of gratitude for what Christ did for us. Our daily life bears fruit on true repentance. 🙏🏽
DeleteThank You Lord for making the sacrifice so that we may be saved! Your blood was shed for us sinners, yet we take it for granted majority of the time. I know I’m not worthy of Your sprinkled blood, but You have allowed a door to be opened if we choose to open it...Thank You for being my key to Heaven 🙏🏼
