Ko e ha ‘a e tu‘utu‘uni ‘oku ‘eke ‘e he ‘Otuá ‘i he fekau hono Ono, Fitu mo e Valu ‘o e
Fekau ‘e Hongofulú ?
(What does God require in the sixth,
seventh, and eighth commandments?)
Onó , ke ‘oua te tau fakalavea‘i, pe
fehi‘a, pe anga ta‘etaau ki hotau kaunga‘apí, ka ke tau fa‘a kataki mo anga
melino pea ke tau kumi ha founga ke ‘ofa ki hotau ngaahi fili. Fitú , ke tau faka‘ehi‘ehi mei he holi

ke fai ki ai ha tokoni.
Sixth, that we do not hurt, or hate, or be
hostile to our neighbor
but be patient and peaceful, pursuing even
our enemies with love.
Seventh, that we abstain from sexual
immorality and live purely and faithfully, whether in marriage or in single
life, avoiding all impure actions, looks, words, thoughts, or desires, and
whatever might lead to them. Eighth, that we do not take without permission
that which belongs to someone else, nor withhold any good from someone we might
benefit.
Loma 13:9
He ko e ngaahi lea, ‘Oua te ke tono fefine, ‘Oua te ke fakapō, ‘Oua te
ke kaiha‘a, ‘Oua te ke mānumanu, mo e hā fua ha fekau ‘oku toe, ‘oku fālute ‘e
he folofola ni, “Te ke ‘ofa ki ho kaungā‘api ‘o hangē ko ho‘o ‘ofa kiate koe.”
Romans 13:9
For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not
murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall
not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying,
namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Na‘a
ne fai foki mo e akonaki tatau fekau’aki pea mo e fe’auaki. Na’a nau tala ‘oku nau haohaoa. Kae fakamanatu ‘e he ‘Eiki kiate kinautolu,
‘oku mou tala ‘oku ‘ikai te mou fe’auaki?
“Ka ‘oku ou tala kiate kimoutolu, ko ia kuo ne sio ki ha fefine ‘o holi
kiate ia kuo ne fe’auaki ‘i hono loto” (Matiu 5:28).
Kuo
ne halaia; kuo ne manumanu he holi hono loto.
Fakatokanga’i ange, ko e fakatonulea ‘a e ‘Eikí ki he laó, ‘oku ne fakahaa’i ko e holikovi
‘a e lotó ‘oku mala’ia tatau pe mo hono fai ‘o e fo’i ngaue ko ia. Ko e fo’i fakakaukau mo e faka’amú ‘oku kovi tatau pe ia ki he ‘Otua mo hono
fakahoko ‘o e fo’i ngaue ko ia.
Commentary - MARTYN LLOYD-JONES
And
he taught the same, you remember, with regard to adultery. They claimed that
they were guiltless. But wait a minute,
"But
says our Lord, you say you have never committed adultery
unto
you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her
committed
adultery with her already in his heart" (Matt. 5:28). He
is
guilty; he has coveted, he has desired. You see, as our Lord comes to interpret
the law, he shows that an evil desire is as damnable as a deed. A thought and
an imagination are as reprehensible in the sight of God as the act committed.
