Ka ko e
fakamatala eni ia ki he ‘Otua ‘o e Tohitapuʹ, pea ko e ‘Otua ‘o e Tohitapuʹ
‘oku ‘ikai toe ‘ekea. ‘Okuʹ ne fakahā mai Ia, ko e ‘Otua lauʻitāniti mo maʻoniʻoni.
Ko e ‘Otua ia ‘o e ‘ofa. Ko e ‘Otua ‘oku ope atu; ‘a ia, ‘oku mahulu hake Ia ‘i
he vavāaʹ, ‘okuʹ ne ‘i tuʻa taimi pea ope atu ‘i he hisitōliaʹ. Ka ‘i he taimi
tatau, ko e ‘Otua taupotu mai; ‘o ‘uhinga, ‘oku tau feohi mātuʻaki vāofi pea ‘e
‘ikai te tau lava ke hola mei hono lotolotonga. ‘Okuʹ ne ‘i he potu kotoa pe.
‘Oku ‘ikai femaliuliuaki. ‘Oku fai moʻoni maʻu pe. ‘Oku falalaʻanga. ‘Oku tau
fekauʻaki.
But we’re talking about the God of the
Bible, and the God of the Bible is self-defined. He talks about himself as
being eternal and righteous. He’s the God of love. He’s the God of
transcendence; that is, he’s above space and time and history. Yet he is the
immanent God; that is, he is so much with us that we cannot possibly escape
from him. He is everywhere. He is unchangeable. He is truthful. He is reliable.
He’s personal.
