Sola Fide - Faith Alone - Ko e Tui´ pe
There are different sorts of faith that are not true and saving, as is evident by what the apostle James says: "Show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works," where it is supposed that there may be a faith without works, which is not the right faith. When he says, “I will show thee faith by my works," nothing else can be meant, than that I will show thee that my faith is right. It is a trusting in Christ.
“Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little: blessed are all they that put their trust in him." "That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ: in whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise.

ReplyDeleteJust Post a “PROMISE” from today’s text - a divine Truth!
Christ is the promise. We can rest assured that the day comes is certain. Paul has complete faith in Him and His promise
DeleteThank you
DeleteThe “suffering” is worth it. Christ is reliable
ReplyDeleteActually, Paul lists 3 titles for himself (preacher, apostle & teacher) = not to elevate himself, but to say, "because of his calling, he suffers!" So, he counts it as a badge of honor to suffer.
DeletePaul’s faith is admirable and as he encourages Timothy that even as he sits in prison that He isn’t ashamed, because of what Christ has done. Suffering with Christ and remaining faithful
ReplyDeletePraise GOD!
DeleteThere are 2 reasons in the text for Paul’s confidence. What are they?

ReplyDeletePlot - 2 Timothy 1
Promise - God will protect us if we have Faith in Christ to be our foundation and not us.
Proclamation -
1) God has given each of us a talent/gift as he has chosen Paul to be a preacher. We have to use that talent to work for God.
2) Do not be ashamed in knowing God.

Jesus broke the power of death by resurrection thus paving a way to eternal life with that good news. In that Paul was not ashamed to spread the good news.
Jesus spoke about the good news when he said he's going back home to the father to prepare a home for you and I.
O - Convince He is able
W - We will suffer in God but do not be ashamed.
We have to believe and trust in God.
Paul had confidence in God because he had faith and trust in God. God was his foundation and not his effort.
Thank you for “PLOW”-ing! 😃🙏🏼
ReplyDeletePaul had confidence in 1) “whom” he believed! The Object of our Faith is almost, if not, more important than our faith. A misplaced place (sincerely in the wrong thing) is useless! Our confidence (faith) is correctly placed in God, through Christ!
ReplyDelete2) Paul had confidence in the fact that God will “guard” (preserve, maintain, protect) that which was entrusted to him (his calling, the souls given to his care etc)
God is faithful to fulfill everything he has said he would do!!
