SEARCHING FOR TREASURE

KO E KELI KOULA

PSALM 119:10

I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.

SAAME 119:10

Kuo u ha‘ao kiate koe ‘aki hoku loto kotoa: ‘Oua na‘a ke tuku ke u he mei ho‘o ngaahi tu‘utu‘uni na.

Sola Scriptura - Scripture Alone - Ko e Folofola´ pe

No man who merely skims the Book of God can profit thereby; we must dig and mine until we obtain the hid treasure. The door of the Word only opens to the key of diligence. The Scriptures claim searching. They are the writings of God, bearing the divine stamp and imprimatur (an official license) - who shall dare to treat them with levity? He who despises them despises the God who wrote them. God forbid that any of us should leave our Bibles to become swift witnesses against us in the great Day of Account. The Word of God will repay searching. God docs not bid us sift a mountain of chaff with here and there a grain of wheat in it, but the Bible is winnowed corn—we have but to open the granary door and find it.

Scripture grows upon the student. It is full of surprises. Under the teaching of the Holy Spirit, to the searching eye it glows with splendor of revelation, like a vast temple paved with wrought gold, and roofed with rubies, emeralds, and all manner of gems. No merchandise is like the merchandise of Scripture truth.

CHARLES SPURGEON

  1. What is my lesson from today's verse? Seek Him with all my heart. Not 1/4 or 1/2 but wholehearted. That is in order for me to find that treasure each day i need to dig deeper in his words.

Thank you for the today's devotion. GB

  3. This verse is well read and is a part of our memory verses. The verse as it stands alone, does emphasize an important point in our christian walk -seeking the Lord. My prayer is that I seek deeply into the word and not just “skim” as the devotional says, but really take a deep dive into the bible. I won’t truly find out what God wants for me if I don’t dig deep and seek Him. I seek Him by reading His word, praying and worshipping with Him. This part is not where I want it to be yet, but my desire only grows to becomes deeper. Because God is too good and faithful. May we not become just “skimmers” of His word, but diggers. Thank you for this devotional 🙏🏽. Thank you Lord for this day.

  5. Thank you for todays lesson. It’s important that I continue to find a deeper relationship with the Lord and give him my whole heart so that he can direct me in the right path. It’s also a reminder that if we want to seek his words our hearts need to be 100% in what we do. Todays verse taught me the importance of giving God my heart. It’s time to Let Go and Let God.

  6. I think its important to realize that as we grow in our faith that we have to be able to dive deeper. But i also think that the main point for me is to be 100% in or not at all, because being 50% or 75% is just as good as zero. I think its a good reminder that since i am a believer i have to be 100% devout because thats what we’re called to do.

    1. And on those occasions that all you can muster up is 75% feleti, then still bring that to the altar of grace, because God is our ultimate perfector! We were not called to be perfect, we were called to be obedient and strive for Righteousness. Where we may fall short, God completes His work in Us. Phil 1:6 ❤️

  7. Man I love the Tongan translation specifically the word Ha'ao for the English word seek. It's not fekumi or kumi. Rarely do I hear it use in conversation or everyday dialogue. There's such an emphasis on the word that it captures the meaning of the verse for me. That I need to bring a 100%, everything I got, it's 4th quarter.
    Reminds me of the quote
I was ask to jump, I replied how high.
Reminds me to bring everything I got and then some. But that is not always the case. If it's 100% percent, bring it. How about 75%?, Bring it,50%?, bring it. 30%?, Bring it. Wherever you are at this moment in time, If that is your all, bring it.

  9. I know it’s Saturday for us here in America lol , but I couldn’t pass up a day.

If I am being honest I catch myself being guilty of surface scripture reading or surface God searching. I realize praying to dive deeper without any action behind it to support my desire to grow in Christ oku hoko pe koe lusa pe koe puhi veve 🥴😂 at this point. I was just telling my mentor this morning that through this outlet we have here and more and more throughout my adult life I realize how famished I am for Gods word and I lack true biblical knowledge . So Father help me dive deeper by being even more genuine in my bible reading .

Father help me keu “kumi hakili kihe folfola” authentically with a true spirit of desire to know you not surface know you.
