THE BALM OF GOD

KO E LOLO FAITO’O ‘A E ‘OTUA´

He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.

PSALM 107:20

‘Oku ne fekau atu ‘ene folofola, ‘o fai honau faito‘o, ‘O ne hamusi mei honau ngaahi luo.

SAAME 107:20

Sola Scriptura - Scripture Alone - Ko e Folofola´ pe

There is no balm in Gilead, but there is balm in God. There is no physician among the creatures, but the Creator is Jehovah-rophi. It is marvelous how one sweet word of God will make whole songs for Christians. One word of God is like a piece of gold, and the Christian is the gold-beater, and can hammer that promise out for whole weeks.

So, then, poor Christian, thou needest not sit down in despair. Go to the Comforter, and ask Him to give thee consolation. Thou art a poor dry well. You have heard it said, that when a pump is dry, you must pour water down it first of all, and then you will get water, and so, Christian, when thou art dry, go to God, ask Him to shed abroad His joy in thy heart, and then thy joy shall be full. Do not go to earthly acquaintances, for you will find them Job's comforters after all, but go first and foremost to thy "God, that comforteth those that are cast down," and you will soon say, "In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul."

  2. He sent-
to save, teach, guide, train 2 Timothy 3:16.
Also for our benefit to not give up on ourselves but to have faith. He sent his words in many ways including Through Pastors, parents, friends etc.

Healed- his words can heal our broken hearts, feeling depressed, feeling lonely, sad, afraid, stressed etc. I know that when i feel down or in the moments of all types of emotions, remembering his words (memory verses) gave me comfort and hope that i will be okay. Being sick with covid and being isolated from family and live alone, his words is the only thing that will keep us going as it reminded us He is our healer. The Doctor above all doctors.
Rescued - his words rescued me from drowning in my darkness. From falling into Satan's path. I could've done more in life that may lead me down wrong path but thankful for his love and protection that rescued me from it all. TYJ

  3. Psalm 107:17-20
The people rebelled and sinned and almost died in their sin but they called out to God and he saved them.
God allows us free will but he doesn't tolerate sins. We all know that sin only has one destination and if we don't repent then it'll be too late.
Thank God that we have the opportunity to be save while there's time. He gives us his words to save us only if we are willing to ask for it accept it.
In our time of need and suffering God is not far he only needs us to call on him and he will do the rest.
You are not alone. We are all sinners save by grace. When we run out of options and people to call upon, know that God is always an option. Call on him anytime and he will never turn us away.

  4. I consider myself blessed to have a God that could speak things into existence. I have problems in my life, but who doesn’t?! No one is perfect, but we have a perfect God.

This devotional reminds me of Phil. 4:4 which is a common verse to all of us and it’s regards to rejoicing in the Lord. We can’t rejoice in the Lord if we’re not in His Word to give us the joy. I know my day is better when I’m in the Word of God because it fuels my spirit and gives me something to cling too during that day.

Math. 6:33 seek Him and Him alone for comfort and He will give you what you Need in His timing.
