GOD'S COUNSEL

KO E FALEʻI ‘A E ‘OTUA´

You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.

PSALM 73:24

Te ke fale‘i au, ‘o taki hala, Pea hili ia te ke tali fakahū au ki he kolōlia.

SAAME 73:24

Te ke tataki au i ho’o poto, pea hili ia te ke ma‘u au ki ho nāunāu.

(Paaki ‘a Uesi)

Sola Scriptura - Scripture Alone - Ko e Folofola´ pe

Be assured that thy God will be thy Counsellor and Friend; He shall guide thee; He will direct all thy ways. In His written Word thou hast this assurance in part fulfilled, for Holy Scripture is His counsel to thee. Happy are we to have God's Word always to guide us! What were the mariner without his compass? And what were the Christian without the Bible? This is the unerring chart, the map in which every shoal is described, and all the channels from the quicksands of destruction to the haven of salvation mapped and marked by One who knows all the way.

Blessed be Thou, O God, that we may trust Thee to guide us now, and guide us even to the end! After this guidance through life, the psalmist anticipates a divine reception at last: “and afterward receive me to glory." What a thought for thee, believer! God Himself will receive thee to glory-thee! Wandering, erring, straying, yet He will bring thee safe at last to glory! This is thy portion; live on it this day.

  1. I think asking God for guidance is something imperative although i do think often times its something we dont do too often. As i am right now, i spend a lot of time looking for colleges and im always looking at pros and cons. What i should be doing is asking God for his guidance in where he wants me to go and make an impact for his kingdom. I just think although we know its so important for God to guide us, we often dont remember to ASK God to be our sole guidance, we always try to problem solve on our own instead of asking God for help. I know for me personally i need to work on that aspect of my walk of faith a lot.

  2. Today's lesson ties in to a point I made yesterday. I'll only receive God's counsel if I have a personal relationship.
It's like trying to graduate without attending classes.
Without his counsel we follow others counsel that don't have our best interest. God will always want the best for us and his counsel will always be true.
