(v. 24) He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
(v. 24) Ka ka tali ‘e ia ‘o ne pehē, Kuo ‘ikai fekau mai au, ka ki he fanga sipi kuo mole ‘i he hako ‘o ‘Isileli.
*Commentary: The Reformation Bible Study*
15:24 only to the lost sheep...of Israel. Before the resurrection, the "wall" dividing Israel from the Gentile nations (Eph. 2:14) still stood; and Jesus sent the Twelve to Israel's lost sheep (Matt.10:5, 6). Jesus came as the Messiah and heir to the throne of David to fulfill God's promises to the patriarchs (Rom. 15:8). Yet Jesus graciously responds to this Gentile woman's humility, lack of presumption, and unreserved confidence that His mercy and power are more than sufficient to overflow boundaries of the covenant community and to supply her daughter's desperate need.
No matter what we may be going through and dealing with in this crazy world, God got us!!! He is here to supply our every need as long as we Trust in Him to do so but we also have to meet Him halfway by making that step of asking for help when needed 🙏🏼
ReplyDeleteWe have a great story today. A woman pleaded with Jesus to heal her daughter that was possessed:
ReplyDelete1. The woman was a gentile
2. The apostle told Jesus to send her away, she was being annoying and bothering them.
3. Jesus told her he was sent to the people of Israel.
4. Jesus told her, "it's not right to take food from the children and give it to the dogs.
The story teaches us about perseverance and faith and also about a mother's love or parents love. Often times when we are face with obstacles we lose hope and give up right away. Despite the many reasons she was told it couldn't be done the mother refused to give up and kept pushing forward. Despite everyone being against her, she still had faith and love that was greater then all the negativity.
In the end she was rewarded and her child was healed.
Be courageous and have faith. Things in life don't come easy. We will face struggles and adversity but be still and have faith in Jesus and yourself and we can overcome anything.
i mean this story is on love tbh. about how much power and love God has and the amount that we just dont know about. also the mother pleading for ppl to help. i think it really shows how under appreciated mothers are sometimes. a mothers love is prolly one of the most awesome things after God of course. i think we need to be thankful and this story reminds me as a child that my mother is my biggest human advocate and has done things for me i dont even realize and to not take adavantags of it and that i need to be thankful
