LOVE FOR THE WORD
HOHOI KI HE FOLOFOLA
How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth.
PSALM 119:103
Hono ‘ikai ifoifo melie kiate au ho‘o ‘ū lea na! ‘Oku hulu ‘i ha ma‘anga honi ia.
SAAME 119:103
Sola Scriptura - Scripture Alone - Ko e Folofola´ pe
Only the acts of a Christian are truly good and acceptable to God, because they are done in faith, with a cheerful heart, out of gratitude to Christ. We ought to have no misgivings about whether the Holy Ghost dwells in us. We "the temple of the Holy Ghost” (1 Corinthians 3:16).
When we have a love for the Word of God and gladly hear, talk, write, and think of Christ, we are to know that this inclination toward Christ is the gift and work of the Holy Ghost. Where you come across contempt for the Word of God, there is the devil.
We meet with such contempt for the Word of God mostly among the common people. They act as though the Word of God does not concern them. Wherever you find a love for the Word, thank God for the Holy Spirit who infuses this love into the hearts of men. We never come by this love naturally, neither can it be enforced by laws. It is the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Great devotion this morning. It just reminds us why we should be grateful that we spend time in the Word of God because we have faith in Him.
ReplyDeleteWhen we don’t seek the Word of God that means we let the devil take over our lives by allowing him to question why we’re reading the Word in the first place or allows us to make excuses on why we’re too busy to be in the Word of God.
As a vessel that that Holy Spirit resides in, we should never make up excuses on not being able to read the Bible. It doesn’t have to be early in the morning as long as it’s being done. In the end ko koe pe teke ilo hono lelei mo hono tapuaki🙏🏼
“ Where you come across contempt for the Word of God, there is the devil.”
ReplyDeleteContempt - disregard for something that should be taken into account. The feeling that a person or a thing is beneath consideration , worthless , deserving of scorn. (sheesh) I learned something new today.
Lord continue to help me not be my biggest hindrance in my relationship with you anymore. Amen.
As i read today's devotion's 2 words that sticks out to me are sweet and taste. How do we know his words is sweet? Do you taste the Sweetness of it? There's a lot of questions comes to mind regarding this but i will apply it to myself in what I understand.
ReplyDeleteAs i think about candy i apply it to today's devotion's. Any Candy we get it looks good and give us the urge to open and try to see what it taste like or how sweet it is.
Same goes with the word of God. How do we/i know the sweetness of his words is by opening the bible we all have and seek, search, study, dig deep to know the mysteries that's hidden in his words. Unwrap that candy and taste the sweetness of it. For the sweetness of his words, we got to open that bible and dwell in to know how sweet his words are.
Today's devotion's reminded me that God's words is sweet and in order for me to know it sweetness and what it taste like, for me to speak it, memorize it, write it and read it daily like I'm supposed to.
