MEMORY VERSES: Deuteronomy 29:29
The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Na’e hopo hake ‘a e ni’ihi ko ‘eni ke nau fakafepaki kia Nehemaia ‘aki ha ngaahi talatalaaki mo e  fa’ufa’u ‘i he lotokovi.  Na’e tokolahi pe mo e ni’ihi ‘i he ngaahi kolo kaunga’api na’a nau feinga ke fakakovi’i ‘a e ngaahi taumu’a ngaue ‘a Nehemaia.

‘I he taimi ‘oku tau tukupa ai ke tauhi tonunga ki he ‘Otua, ‘oku ne ‘omi ha ngaahi taumu’a lahi mo lelei ke fakahoko pea ‘oku toki malava pe ia  kapau te tau falala kakato kiate Ia.  Pea ko e taimi lahi, ko e lahi ange ‘a e taumu’a mo e ngaue, ko e lahi ange ia ‘a e fakafepaki ‘oku tau fehangahangai mo ia.  Ka neongo pe ko e ha ‘a e tukunga ‘o e fakafepaki, ‘oku kei ‘omi ‘e he ‘Otua ha malohi mo ha kataki ke fakakakato ‘aki ‘ene ngaue, ‘o hange pe ko ia na’e ha ‘i he fua fatongia ‘a Nehemaia mo e kakai ‘o Selusalema.

The work to which God called Nehermiah would not be easy. And he could not do it alone. One reason the work progressed so quickly was that everyone took part from rulers and temple personnel to merchants and families. Even people from the villages distant from Jerusalem helped. More intimidating than the physical obstacles was the human opposition. Not everyone was thrilled with Nehemiah's plan. In the Persian government, lines of authority were not always clear, and some officials feared that a stronger Jerusalem would diminish their prestige. For others, the development awakened ancient rivalries with the Jews. These enemies would seek to undermine Nehemiah with false accusations. Many people living in the vicinity were determined to spoil Nehemiah's plans.

When we commit to faithfully serving God, He gives us, God-sized goals that are only accomplished when we depend on Him. Oftentimes, the bigger the goal, the bigger the challenges we face. No matter the source of our opposition, God, He gives us the strength to persevere and to complete our tasks, as Nehemiah and the people of Jerusalem demonstrated for us.
