Ko hai ‘a e Huhu‘i?

( Who is the Redeemer?)

Ko e Huhu‘í  ko e ‘Eiki ko Sisu Kalaisí  pe taha, ko e ‘Alo ta‘engata ‘o e ‘Otuá, ‘a Ia na‘e hoko mai ai ‘a e ‘Otuá ‘o kakano, koe‘uhí  ke ne fua ‘a e tautea ‘o e angahalá ‘e Ia.

( The only Redeemer is the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, in whom God became man and bore the penalty for sin himself)

1 Timote 2:5
He ‘oku taha pē ‘a e ‘Otua, taha foki ‘a e Fakalaloa ‘i he vaha‘a ‘o e ‘Otua mo e tangata, ko Kalaisi Sīsū ko e tangata.

Ko e ‘Alo Tofu-pe taha, na‘e ‘i mu‘a ‘i he ngaahi kuongá, ‘a Ia ‘oku tau kakapa mo misiteli ki he tangata, haohaoa, ‘ikai hano sino matelie, ka ko eni kuo ne ‘ai hoku sino kakanó, ‘a ē ‘oku hā maí pea uesia ‘e he ‘elemeniti ‘o mamani. Pea koe‘uhí  ko e pehē ‘e he tangatá ‘oku falala‘anga ange ‘a e sió ‘i he fanonongó, pea ‘oku nau ta‘etui leva ki he me‘a ‘oku ‘ikai ke nau mamata ki aí. Ko ia ai, na‘e pau leva ke ne fakahā sino Ia ‘i he lotolotonga ‘o e tangatá, telia ha loto na‘e tāla‘a.

Commentary - JOHN CHRYSOSTOM

The Only Begotten, Who is before all ages, Who cannot be touched or be perceived, Who is simple, without body, has now put on my body that is visible and liable to corruption. For what reason? That coming amongst us he may teach us, and teaching, lead us by the hand to the things that men cannot see.

For since men believe that the eyes are more trustworthy than the ears, they doubt of that which they do not see, and so He has deigned to show Himself in bodily presence that He may remove all doubt....
